Father’s Day Open Horse Show

The Mineral County Fairgrounds Association All Breed Open Horse Show on Saturday June 20, 2010 was a great success for the first event of the season at the Upper Rio Grande Events and Recreation Complex.  Show manager Rosemary Egolf coordinated a wide range of English and Western classes. Local community members involved were Brian Egolf who entertained as the emcee, Kazie and Charlies Hayes as ringmasters, as well as Tanja Korpi and Zeke Ward who assisted with on the ground coordination.  On behalf of the Mineral County Arts, Eloise Hooper assisted with collecting fees for the show and memberships for the Events and Recreation Complex.  The horse show was critiqued according to 4-H rules by professional judge Ms. Erlene Seybold from Espanola, NM. Riders exhibited a high level of sportsmanship, evident from riding abilities, friendly handshakes and many congratulations.  Attracting an age range of riders 6 to 60, the event was well attended and proved its viability as annual event.
